Video calls with members, Wellness Packs and delivering hot meals to vulnerable and isolated individuals in the community are just some of the ways local service Cairdeas Clubhouse has been responding to the COVID-19 crisis.
Cairdeas Clubhouse is a HSE mental health service based in Bray and while members have not been able to attend the centre in recent times, staff have continued to provide supports over the phone, via individual and group video calls, through Wellness Packs posted regularly to members and hot meals for more vulnerable isolated members.
Manager Ronan Mulhern says Cairdeas is currently working towards a gradual re-opening of the service from 20th July, with new ways of working.
The staff team have been risk-assessing the building and changing the layout, signage and operations to meet health and safety and hygiene protocols and observe physical distancing, and carrying out staff training. As they re-open, there will be a reduced, appointments-based service for members who wish to return and they’ll be linking in with all members to find out their plans, priorities, needs and concerns.
