Check out Cairdeas Clubhouse’s wonderful blog, produced regularly by members and staff, and helping members keep in touch with the service during these challenging times.
Cairdeas Clubhouse is a HSE Mental Health service based in Bray, with members from South Co. Dublin and Co. Wicklow.
Although the clubhouse building is closed for the time being, the clubhouse community remains open and active – with tele- and virtual outreach and support to members, and a hot meal delivered Monday to Friday to vulnerable and socially isolated members – all informed by the values of the clubhouse model: to promote health and well-being through hope-inspiring, recovery-based services.
Members and staff have worked virtually together on a joint ‘Lockdown’ newsletter and contributions to the Blog and Facebook page. Members have been sharing their lockdown diaires, healthy recipes, exercises, stress management techniques, stories, poems, jokes, paintings and photographs. There’s also information on online training from the HSE and NHS and support services available in the community.
May is Green Ribbon month and all members are encouraged to share their experiences and break the stigma about mental health. Wellness advice packs and Green Ribbons have been posted to members and there will be a collage of Green Ribbon selfies created for the blog and next Lockdown Newsletter.
