At this event in The Whale Theatre, Social Fabric podcast host Andrea Splendori speaks to two remarkable people who have made it to the very top of their different fields against all the odds: Filmaker Paddy Slattery and Paralympic Cyclist Richael Timothy.
The event is part of a fundraising campaign to help local man Galen English get a racing handbike. Galen was training for the Ironman in Australia when he was involved in a cycling accident that left him paralysed from the chest down. One of the unseen impacts of being in a wheelchair is your world shrinks but the handbike is a life saver. Like most specialised equipment for people with disabilities, it is very expensive.
