Equality Tribunal

The Equality Tribunal looks into claims of discrimination under the equality legislation. A Tribunal mediator can help you to reach agreement on a discrimination issue. Alternatively, a Tribunal Equality Officer will listen to evidence from both sides of the argument. They will then give a legally binding decision on the basis of what they have heard.

The Equality Authority is a government agency set up to help stop discrimination, to promote equality and to give information to the public about the equality legislation. Staff can give you advice and support you to bring a complaint to the Equality Tribunal.
