New N. Wicklow out of hours GP service

North Wicklow's new out of hours GP service will start from 2nd April 2019, from St. Columbcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown.

The HSE will be providing more information nearer to the date.

 
DFI elections campaign

The Disability Federation of Ireland is running a campaign to make disability a top priority for candidates in the Local and European Parliament Elections on the 24th May.

They have a range of actions you can take if you care about disability issues - such as:

 

  • Use their email tool to contact your local candidates. 
  • Arrange for your local club, branch, organisation to bring up disability issues with candidates.
  • Organise a Q & A event with candidates.
  • Attend other events where candidates are speaking and ask questions.
  • If you meet a candidate out and about, or if they come knocking on your door, ask them what they will do about disability issues.
  • Contact your local papers and radio stations to raise disability issues before the elections. 
  • Get the disability facts for your county via their website and raise awareness.
  • Get on social media using #DisabilityVotesCount to follow and contribute to the campaign:
  • on Twitter @DisabilityFed and on Facebook @DFIIreland.

People With Disabilities Face Discrimination in Housing

Lone mothers, people with disabilities, young people and Travellers are the main groups facing the highest levels of discrimination and inequality when it comes to housing in Ireland, according to research published by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission and ESRI on 15th June 2018.
