Employment legislation

The main piece of legislation governing equality in employment is the Employment Equality Act 1998, which is amended by the Equality Act 2004. 

The National Employment Rights Authority (NERA) gives information to employees and employers and checks employment conditions. It can make employers obey teh law and ask for compensation if an employee is not treated well.
